Limited to just 120 bottles and 711 magnums, this special "Collezione" wine is dedicated to Francesco of the Parusso family. You'll recognize this imposing bottle by its gold label, and the wine is only made in the very best years. The late-release 2000 Barolo Riserva Bussia Oro is an extraordinary expression, and I feel especially lucky to have tasted this precious magnum. The Parusso house style is built to last. In other words, certain methods, such as stem inclusion, translate to wines that are designed for the long haul. The tannins take an extra long time before they soften. Tasted now, nearly 21 years after the harvest, this wine still has some road to travel. But it has already reached a beautiful place, with dried cassis, cigar ash, truffle and campfire ember. The tannins are indeed tucked in, and the finish offers long and silky sensations. This wine offers an excellent perspective on the long-term vision of the Parusso family. Producer Parusso Armando
