Mazis Chambertin 2009 75cl

The 2009 Mazis-Chambertin boasts incredible perfume, tons of detail and a striking, vibrant finish. It is an incredibly silky, polished wine endowed with impeccable balance and harmony. It is of course far too young to be enjoyed at its fullest, but readers who can wait will be rewarded with an exceptional, pedigreed Burgundy of the highest level. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039.  Lalou Bize-Leroy’s wines need a lot of time in bottle. There is no getting around it. These 2009 reds, while beautiful, come across as very, very young, even within the context of the vintage. My only hope is to have an opportunity to taste them again at some point in the future.
