The Guillot Clauzel has an attractive, raspberry and strawberry scented bouquet with well-integrated vanillary new oak, gaining lift and definition with each swirl of the glass. Dare I say, it reminds me of Le Pin! The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, very attractive purity and focus here with just the right acidity livening the finish. This is beautifully crafted with great freshness, vitality and complexity. This is a lovely 2008 from Guillot-Clauzel. Tasted December 2010.15 Rene GabrielAufhellendes Rubin, transparenter Rand. Schlankes Bouquet, unreife Johannisbeeren, deshalb eher sauer im Ansatz. Dropsiger, komisch-süsser Gaumen, angenehm, aber tendenziell eindimensional. beginnen (2013 - 2024) Producer Château Guillot ClauzelLocated next to châteaux Guillot and Le Pin, Château Guillot Clauzel is a microscopic Pomerol estate (only 1.7 hectares - even smaller than Le Pin). Their vineyards are known to be very old and obviously well located. They are planted to Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) and its wines are aged in 50% new French oak barrels. Despite its exceptional site, the wines remain relatively unknown. It also produces a second wine called Guillotière de Guillot Clauzel.
