With a rich, concentrated and pure mouthfeel, wonderfully sweet tannin, full-bodied density and richness, but elegance in abundance, this is a stunner, and one of the great Margaux of the vintage. Drink it now and over the next 20 years. Producer Château D'IssanChâteau d'Issan continues to impress every year, with increasingly better wines vintage after vintage. Classified as a Third Growth in the 1855 Classification, d’Issan remains one of the leading producers in Margaux. As a historic estate, the property has gone through several owners up until 1945, when a well-known Médoc family bought the château – the Cruses. Currently, Emmanuel Cruse manages the property with the help of the Lorenzetti family of Château Pédesclaux. The vineyards stretch over 44 hectares, with a majority of the vines planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest to Merlot. Their wines are reaching new heights, with rigorous selection of the best fruits and up to 18 months of aging in 50% new oak.
