Solideo 2000 75cl

I was unimpressed with an innocuous 2000 white, but this blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French oak was splendid. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by dense aromas of blackberries, cassis, espresso, and toasty new oak. The wine possesses excellent texture, a sweet entry on the palate, medium body, and a long, fruit-driven finish exhibiting ripe tannin. Drink it over the next decade.
