The 2011 Barolo Riserva Novantesimo is a proud and exuberant wine that does enormous justice to the vintage and to the mighty Nebbiolo grape. This is remembered as a warm growing season, and this wine is richly layered, generous and beautifully intense as a result. Dark cherry aromas are folded within spice, cured tobacco and leather. The best part is that subtle crunch or snap you get on the palate, thanks to the fresh acidity that is neatly integrated within.<br/>The Scavino family is currently building a new underground storage room for putting aside back vintages. Like many other A-list producers in the area, this winery wants to stock up on library vintages to sell ten years or more down the line.

Azienda Vitivinicola Paolo Scavino
La Tenuta Paolo Scavino è una delle principali in Italia e ha prodotto i migliori esempi di Barolo fin dagli anni '20 del Novecento. Fondata dalla famiglia Scavino, questa tenuta è stata diretta da Enrico Scavino per molti anni. Un visionario in campo enologico, Enrico è una delle figure chiave responsabili della magnifica reputazione del Piemonte. La tenuta di Paolo Scavino comprende i migliori 29 ettari di proprietà vitivinicola della regione, tra cui i principali Cru di Barolo - Cannubi, Bric dël Fiasc e Rocche dell’Annunziata. Vinificare le viti appezzamento per appezzamento permette alla cantina di perfezionare i propri vini. Oggi, le figlie di Enrico, Elisa ed Enrica, aiutano a gestire la tenuta. Il loro fiore all’occhiello, Bric dël Fiasc, simboleggia uno dei primi esempi di imbottigliamento da mono-vigneto del Barolo, con la prima annata prodotta nel 1978.
